Bollywood’s reigning Queen Deepika Padukone is celebrating her 36th Birthday today and we’re letting this day be all about her!
Before her big Hindi debut beside Bollywood’s King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika was already a household name in the modelling scene and was also a part of several ads.
Take a look at these 7 on-screen projects that DP was a part of before her B-Town debut in Om Shanti Om (2007)!
1. Liril (Advertisement)
One of Deepika’s first major advertisement breakthroughs was the Liril soap ad which got her immediate recognition.
2. Close-Up (Advertisement)
At the age of 19, Deepika ventured into the modelling business but soon after that, this Close-Up ad became one of her earliest endorsements.
3. Kingfisher Fashion Awards
For those who did not know, Padukone in 2006 had become one of the most recognised names in Kingfisher Calendar’s print campaign. Before that, she was also awarded the title ‘Model of the Year’.
4. Mangalyam (Advertisement)
Now that Deepika and fashion were hand-in-hand around this time, the model turned actress appeared in a very well known advertisement for the clothing brand.
5. Naam Hai Tera
Deepika in Om Shanti Om is an unforgettable sight but what helped her bag the role of Shanti Priya was her feature in Himesh Reshammiya’s music video for the song Naam Hai Tera (2006). That was where Farah Khan spotted the beauty!
6. Seemati Silks (Advertisement)
Deepika was a part of yet another clothing advertisement. The brand is called Seema Silks and it featured DP in multiple stunning traditional outfits.
7. Limca (Advertisement)
Apparently in this advertisement for Limca, a young Deepika who was barely a 16-year-old teenager had been cast. If we didn’t know her sports background already, we’d say acting runs in her veins quite naturally.
