Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will soon be seen in Mani Ratnam’s period drama flick ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
The gorgeous diva has reportedly signed her next film which is rumoured to be an Indo-American project!
As per Bollywood Hungama, the movie is titled ‘The Letter’ and is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s book Three Women. It’s being directed helmed by theatre writer-director Isheeta Ganguly.
“Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing the main protagonist in the film. While the play was called Three Women, we are changing the name and have titled our film The Letter as the film is based around the letter of Kadambari Devi who was Tagore’s sister-in-law. I am really glad that Aishwarya loved the script and agreed to be a part of my directorial debut,” the director told the media.
Though The Letter was initially planned to be a Hindi film, Aish felt it appealed to the urban American sensibilities and hence, it’s being made in English.
Meanwhile, talking about Ponniyin Selvan – it will release in theatres in summer, 2022!
