The film caused a bigger buzz when fans and the audience realised that Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh made cameo appearances as Singham and Simmba respectively. However, Rohit answered a burning question in a recent interview, one that many viewers seemed to be talking about.

Addressing the whole ‘good Muslim bad Muslim’ narrative that is a part of the film, Rohit says, “If I ask you one question, Jaykant Shikare was Hindu a Marathi, in this universe second came a Hindu Godman was there, then in Simmba a Maharashtrian again. In these three negative forces were Hindu. Why isn’t that a problem? He also added that when he made Hindu negative characters, nobody questioned him.

Apart from this, he also explained why a theatre release was opted for Sooryavanshi. “It was a long battle, it was not easy to hold back, especially when you were getting good offers from OTT. But I was like Sooryavanshi needed a theatre release. Maybe it was another film, it would have been different,” Rohit says.
