Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was at the heart of his death case controversy.
She had been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in the drug angle of the case. Her bank accounts were frozen and her mobile and laptop were seized.
Both the Chakraborty siblings are now out on bail. And almost a year later, a special court has ordered the unfreezing of Rhea’s bank accounts and the return of her electronic gadgets, as per HT report.
In her application, Rhea had said that the NCB froze the accounts without any reason and their actions had caused prejudice to her. She added that she needs the bank accounts to pay her taxes, support her lifestyle and her younger brother Showik.
She is now entitled to unfreezing the bank account and FDs, subject to conditions – that she will have to make available the balance amount shown in the accounts whenever required during the trial.
Court also ordered that her electronic gadgets be returned after due verification and executing a bond of ₹1 lakh!
Along with the drug angle, the Chakraborty family was probed for abetment of suicide charges by the CBI and money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate. The actress has been keeping a low profile ever since. She was last seen in the Amitabh Bachchan-Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre.
