Per previous reports, Rakul Preet Singh was going to star in a quirky social comedy film titled ‘Chhatriwali’.
The title is enough to give a hint about the subject matter – this upcoming film was going to feature her in the role of a ‘condom tester’.
But if this latest Bollywood Hungama report is to be believed then Chhatriwali has allegedly been SHELVED now.
The film was aimed at destigmatizing the use of condoms – a topic that was explored quite recently in the Aparshakti Khurana starrer Helmet. However, since Helmet did not garner much of a buzz allegedly, a source informed the portal that Ronnie Screwvala had decided to abandon this film as it was based on a similar subject.
Earlier reports had also claimed that before Rakul, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday were approached for Chhatriwali but they had declined the part. Meanwhile, looks like someone else is going to pull off a similar role – Nushrat Bharucha will reportedly be playing a condom sales and promotions executive in Janhit Mein Jaari.
