When it comes to movies, Bollywood likes to take inspiration from all over the world.
Today, we are here with some upcoming Bollywood remakes of foreign movies that you don’t want to miss.
1. Laal Singh Chaddha- Forrest Gump
Aamir Khan & Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the official Hindi remake of the cult Hollywood classic- ‘Forrest Gump’ (1994). The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on Christmas this year.
The original movie revolves around the life of a man with a low IQ, who recounts the early years of his life when he found himself in the middle of key historical events. All he wants now is to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Jenny.
2. The Intern- The Intern
Amitabh Bachchan & Deepika Padukone are headlining the Bollywood adaptation of the Hollywood comedy-drama- ‘The Intern’ (2015). Rishi Kapoor was supposed to star opposite Deepika but due to his tragic demise last year, the cast had to undergo a change. The movie is scheduled for a summer 2022 release.
The plot follows a 70-year-old widower, who becomes a senior intern at an online fashion website, where he forms an unlikely friendship with the company’s workaholic CEO.
3. Dhamaka- The Live Terror
Kartik Aaryan plays the role of a journalist in his upcoming movie ‘Dhamaka’, co-starring Mrunal Thakur. The thriller action is the Hindi adaptation of the Korean action-thriller ‘The Live Terror’ (2014). The movie is expected to release on Netflix by the end of this year.
It tells the story of a cynical ex-TV news anchor when he gets an alarming call on his radio show, he sees a chance for a career comeback- but it may cost him his conscience.
4. Blurr- Juliya’s Eyes
Taapsee Pannu has become a producer with her upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Bluur’, which is the Hindi remake of the Spanish horror thriller- ‘Juliya’s Eyes’ (2010). The movie, which also stars Gulshan Devaiah in a pivotal role, is slated for a 2022 release.
The plot showcases the thrilling story of a woman who’s slowly losing her sight whilst trying to investigate the death of her twin sister.
5. Looop Lapeta- Run Lola Run
Starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, ‘Looop Lapeta’ is the Hindi adaptation of the critically-acclaimed German thriller ‘Run Lola Run’ (1998). The movie is arriving in theatres on October 22, 2021!
Looop Lapeta revolves around Savi (Taapsee) who finds herself in a sticky situation when her boyfriend Satya (Tahir) gets unknowingly trapped in a crisis.
6. Blind- Blind
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s upcoming movie ‘Blind’ is the remake of a 2011 South Korean movie of the same name. As per reports, the movie is expected to release in 2021.
The plot revolves around a woman who loses her sight after a car accident, only to find her other senses develop, allowing her to help the police in an ongoing investigation.
7. Rambo- Rambo
Tiger Shroff is said to be stepping into the shoes of the veteran action star Sylvester Stallone for the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood classic ‘Rambo’. It will reportedly be an official remake of the 1982 actioner titled ‘First Blood’ (the first installment of Rambo).
The plot revolves around John Rambo, a former US soldier traumatized by memories of the Vietnam War, who gets into trouble when an incident with a small-town sheriff triggers his violent side.
