Most of our favourite Bollywood films have been on high budgets but a lot of the capital goes into designing the celebrities’ costumes too!

1. Deepika Padukone
Padmaavat is always going to be one of Deepika Padukone’s best projects. However, a lot of hard work and patience went into the film. DP had to wear a 30 kg lehenga while shooting for 12-14 hours straight for about 100 days. Interestingly, there was about 400 kg of gold that went into the making of her costume.
2. Sanjay Dutt
As per a report, for his role in Panipat, Sanjay Dutt had to wear an armour that weighed an insane 35 kilograms!
3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan donned some of the most stunning traditional looks in Bollywood history for her film ‘Jodha Akbar’. It had taken 200 craftsmen and 600 days of hard work to only design her extremely heavy 200 kg worth of jewellery.
4. Amitabh Bachchan
If you’re a true Bollywood buff, you’d know where the dialogue ‘Rishte main hum tumhare baap hote hain, naam hai Shahenshah’ comes from. For Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic role in and as Shahenshah, he had worn a heavy 14 kgs suit!
It doesn’t stop just here with Big B! For his film Thugs of Hindostan, Amitabh had to wear a rugged costume that weighed over 20 kgs. Apparently, it was so heavy that the actor almost fainted with the added weight.
5. Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Kaahe Chhed Mohe’, from the movie Devdas, will forever be remembered as one of the most iconic Bollywood performances. Madhuri’s entire look was approximately (or a little over) 30 kgs!
6. Sridevi
The late Sridevi had everyone stunned and mesmerised in her song ‘Dushman Dil Ka Wo Hai’. The actress wore a costume that weighed 25 kgs for all 15 days of shooting.
