THESE 6 Bollywood Movies’ RELEASE DATES POSTPONED Due To Covid-19 Second Wave!

Just when movies restarted to hit theatres, the Covid-19 second wave bought everything to a halt again.

From Toofan to Chehre– these 6 Bollywood movies’ release dates have been postponed amidst the crisis.

1. Toofan

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the upcoming sports drama, starring Farhan Akhtar & Mrunal Thakur in the lead, was slated to release on Amazon Prime Video on May 21. However, given the current pandemic situation, Excel Entertainment has decided to postpone the release of the film. The new release date hasn’t been announced yet.

2. Satyameva Jayate 2

John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate 2, which was scheduled to hit theatres on May 12, has been postponed amidst the Covid-19 second wave. Sharing a statement, director Milap Zaveri announced the news on Instagram a few days ago. According to gossip mongers, Satyameva Jayate 2 release date has been postponed to avoid the clash with Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, which is releasing on May 13.

3. Chehre

Amitabh Bachchan- Emraan Hashmi starrer upcoming crime thriller titled Chehre was supposed to release on the big screens on April 9. However, due to the sudden spike in the Covid-19 positive case, the makers decided to postpone the release until further notice. This much-awaited movie also stars Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, and Rhea Chakraborty.

4. Sooryavanshi

After getting delayed for more than a year, Akshay Kumar & Katrina Kaif starrer much-awaited movie Sooryavanshi, which was finally scheduled to hit the big screens on April 30, got postponed once again due to the second wave.

As India Today reported, confirming the same, the makers released an official statement, which reads, The Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, had a discussion with director Rohit Shetty yesterday. In the meeting, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray appreciated Rohit Shetty as he took the brave and difficult decision of postponing Sooryavanshi owing to the current COVID situation in the state.”

5. Bunty Aur Babli 2

Due to the rise in the Coronavirus case, YRF decided to push the release of Saif Ali Khan- Rani Mukerji- Siddhant Chaturvedi- Sharvari Wagh starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2. The much-awaited sequel was earlier slated to release in theatres on April 23. Meanwhile, a new release date hasn’t been announced yet.

6. Haathi Mere Saathi

Inspired by a true event, Rana Daggubati & Pulkit Samrat starrer Haathi Mere Saathi was all set to hit the theatres on March 26. While the Tamil & Telugu versions of the movie released as per the earlier schedule, the makers decided to postpone the theatrical release of the Hindi version of the action-drama amidst the spike in Covid-19 cases.
