Salman Khan fans were elated as the much-awaited ‘Radhe’ trailer finally dropped today – the film is releasing both in theatres and on OTT (Zeeplex) on 13 May.
And now, another piece of heartwarming news. While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage on – Bhaijaan has stepped forward to lend a helping hand again.
Last year , his ‘Being Haangryy’ food trucks had come to the rescue to feed the city’s underprivileged.
As India battles the 2nd wave of Coronavirus, Salman Khan has again revived the initiative – this time using the trucks for distributing food kits to the frontline workers in the city. As per Midday report, the Superstar is working with Yuva Sena leader Rahul Kanal for the food donation drive.
“Salman expressed his concern for the police officers, BMC staff and health workers on duty. Given their long work hours, he wondered how they would procure essentials since most shops are shut and the grocery stores are functioning in the stipulated four-hour window. Within 24 hours of our conversation, our food trucks hit the road,” commented Kanal.
He further added – “Our kits include tea, mineral water, a pack of biscuits, and snacks that include upma or poha or vada pav or pav bhaji. We have also started a helpline number on which the frontline workers can call, and we’ll travel to their area to serve them. It is Salman’s way of thanking them for their sustained efforts. This will go on till May 15.”
So far 3 food trucks have been distributing food to COVID-19 warriors between Worli and Juhu. They have also made a 3-week plan and are planning on extending their donation drive to other parts of Mumbai.
