In his recently released memoir ‘Unscripted’, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has revealed an interesting trivia about the cult-classic.

Did you guys know that Sanjay Dutt & Gracy Singh’s marriage scene in this movie was shot in a real wedding venue?
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed in his book that they filmed the marriage scene in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ in a real wedding in order to save money, as the budget of that movie was very limited. Also, it was director Rajkumar Hirani’s debut movie.
As per the report, the entire cast & crew of ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, including the lead actors, Chopra & Hirani, went to a real wedding, congratulated the bride & groom, and waited there until the reception was over.
Once all the guests left, the Munna Bhai team conducted their master plan and shot the wedding stills.
Not only that, but Rajkumar Hirani also reportedly decided to rent wedding clothes for both Sanjay & Gracy. However, Gracy wasn’t apparently happy with Hirani’s idea and complained about it to Sanjay.
Sanjay then approached the director, and when he didn’t agree, Dutt reportedly decided to buy his & Gracy’s wedding clothes at his expense.
