7 Famous Actors Who Rejected The Roles In Baahubali

Baahubali is the first Indian movie to enter the 1000cr club and definitely intrigued the question in everybody’s mind “Why did Kattapa kill Bahubali.” 

There are several actors who were initially approached for the role but later regretted their decision of rejecting the role. Let’s see the list of 7 famous actors who rejected roles in “Baahubali” below.

1. Hrithik Roshan- Baahubali

Bollywood’s Greek God Hritik Roshan was offered the lead role of the movie as it was initially planned to release the movie only in Bollywood.  Rajamouli, the director did not reveal the full story of the movie before the actors commit and also want the actor to ensure that when they are doing his movie they should not make any other commitments. As Rajamouli didn’t reveal the full story, Hrithik rejected the movie and went ahead with Mohenjo-Daro.

2. John Abraham- Bhallaladev

John Abraham would have definitely won a lot of hearts in a villain role. John was the first choice of Rajamouli for the role of Bhallaladev and he had also sent the script to him. After waiting for several days and seeing no response he gave the role to Rana Daggubati, the next best option available to him.

3. Mohanlal- Kattapa

There were rumors that the face of the Malayalam film industry Mohanlal was offered the role of Kattapa in the movie. Mohanlal didn’t have dates to work in bulk and hence due to the unavailability of Mohanlal, the role was given to Sathyaraja.

4. Vivek Oberoi- Bhalladev

The king of negative character Vivek Oberoi was also offered the role of Bhalladev. But the actor had a lot of previous commitments at that time and hence he rejected the movie.

5. Sonam Kapoor- Avantika

Since initially, the movie was to be released only in Bollywood Sonam Kapoor was approached for the role of Avantika. But the director demanded full-time for the movie for a span of 2 tears and therefore Sonam Kapoor rejected the movie.

6. Sridevi- Shivgami Devi

Sridevi was approached by Rajamouli for the role of Rajmata Sivagami Devi but she asked for a very hefty pay and demanded booking an entire floor in a five-star hotel and business class tickets from Mumbai to Hyderabad. But Rajamouli couldn’t keep up with the demands which is why Sri Devi rejected the movie.

7. Nayantara- Devsena

The South Indian beauty was also approached for the role of Devsena but she rejected the movie because of her prior commitments and hence the role was taken by Anushkha Shetty.
