Kangana Ranaut Demands Justice for Gulnaaz Khatoon; Bihar Muslim Girl Who Died After Being Burnt Alive

20-year-old Bihar girl, Gulnaaz Khatoon, who was brutally burnt alive, succumbed to her injuries and passed away on Monday.

Incensed at the horrific crime, Manikarnika Actress Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to demand justice for the victim.

Appealing for Justice for Gulnaaz, she tweeted – “Our daughters are not safe,everyday there are bigger and even more heinous crimes against them unfold. Dear liberals I’ve a request don’t look at victims or criminals through your secular lens. At least don’t divide them,Let’s fight against injustice together.”

As reported by Midday, in her dying statement, Gulnaz had named Satish Rai, his father Vinay Rai and cousin Chandan Rai.

Satish had allegedly poured kerosene on Gulnaz and set her on fire on October 30 at Rasoolpur Habib village after she resisted eve-teasing and stalking. Having sustained 75 per cent burn injuries, Gulnaaz succumbed on November 16.

As per India Tomorrow report, Gulnaz’s younger sister Gulshan Parveen said that “the accused had been stalking and sexually harassing her sister for the last three-four months and bringing pressure on her to marry Satish Rai. They killed her because she refused”.

“You are a Hindu and I a Muslim. I can neither have an affair with you nor can I marry you,” she had reportedly told Satish.

Her video statement wherein she alleged that Satish had set her on fire while Vinay and Chandan helped him commit the crime had gone viral on social media. 

In a video statement to the police, Gulnaz said, “I was going to throw garbage around 6 pm when Satish Rai, son of Vinay Rai poured kerosene over me and set me ablaze with a match stick”.

 The accused Chandan Rai has been arrested by Vaishali Police in Bihar. The police informed that efforts are on to nab co-accused Vinay Rai and his son Satish Rai.
