Huma Qureshi has bagged the key role of Subhas Kapoor’s upcoming political drama series ‘Maharani’.
This multi-season show will be streaming on Sony LIV. This project is re-uniting Huma with her Jolly LLB 2 director Subhash Kapoor. While the plot and cast details are kept under wraps, Huma’s character will go through a rollercoaster journey in her political career. As per PeepingMoon, ‘Maharani’ is a hard-hitting social satire and will go on floors next month in Bhopal and the release date is not yet disclosed.
Subhash Kapoor will serve as the showrunner and the producer and Naren Kumar will co-produce while advertising film-maker Karan Sharma will make his directorial debut with this series.
This power packed performer made her web debut last year with Netflix’s dystopian drama ‘Leila’.
Recently Huma has wrapped up the shoot of her upcoming movie ‘Bell Bottom’ in UK, produced by Akshay Kumar along with her co-stars.
Huma’s upcoming projects, Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Freedom’ and Zack Snyder’s international project ‘Army of the Dead’, both are for Netflix and are yet to premiere.
