Rhea Chakraborty had earlier filed an FIR against SSR’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Mitu Singh and Dr Tarun Kumar for abetting suicide, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.
The case was transferred to CBI, and fearing arrest, SSR’s sisters had moved Bombay High Court to quash Rhea’s FIR. Rhea’s has now countered it with her own petition!
India Today report stated that the Priyanka and Mitu had requested the Bombay High Court for an early hearing of their petition. They were also seeking interim relief to ensure no coercive steps were taken against them.
Rhea’s FIR Against Sisters and Doctor:
On September 7, 2020, Rhea had registered the FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters for forgery and giving medication to Sushant which were wrongly prescribed. She claimed that the sisters, along with some doctors, hatched a conspiracy and obtained a false prescription containing banned medicines and administered the same without supervising dose and quantity which may have resulted into a chronic anxiety attack and resulted in Sushant’s suicide.
Rhea Urges Court To Dismiss SSR Sister’s Quashing Petition
Opposing SSR’s sisters move to quash her FIR, Rhea has filed a fresh petition in Bombay High Court requesting dismissal of the sister’s petition.
In her petition, Rhea stated that the actions of Priyanka and Dr Tarun Kumar, in prescribing psychotropic substances without consultation or examination, violated provisions of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020.
“The prescription prepared by them in connivance with each other is a fabricated and false document given that the same reflects Sushant as an OPD patient when on the date and time at which the said prescription was sent, Sushant was in Mumbai and not in New Delhi,” said her reply.
Rhea also said it was surprising that Dr Kumar, a cardiologist at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, had prescribed psychotropic substances to a person he did not know and had never met!
The petition further went on to add – “There is nothing to indicate there was any teleconference between Sushant and the accused doctor.”
Insisting that she has made a “strong prima facie case against the sisters’’, Rhea has vehemently opposed the sisters’ quashing petition since the investigation is at an initial stage.
The HC has asked the Centre and state governments to reply and posted the matter for November 4.
