Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan’s Coolie No 1 is all set for a Christmas 2020 Premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
The handsome hunk has FOUR films lined up back to back; from various genres like action and horror-comedy, with co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Check out the details:
1) Jug Jug Jiyo
Varun Dhawan is gearing up to be back in action by Mid-November. He’ll commence shooting for Good Newwz Director Raj Mehta’s next, a dramedy titled ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’.
Kiara Advani is his love interest in the movie, and Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh will also feature prominently.

A revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “The film is tentatively titled Jug Jug Jiyo and is a dramedy that revolves around the lives of two couples of different generations, played by Varun and Kiara, Anil and Neetu. The situational comedy, spun around a North Indian family promises to be a riot, with the older couple’s strained relationship bringing lots of laughs.”
The film will be shot in Chandigarh, Mumbai and a foreign location, since Varun plays an NRI character.
2) Bhediya
Varun will start off 2021 with a horror-comedy titled Bhediya, helmed by Stree Director Amar Kaushik. Reportedly his co-star will be Shraddha Kapoor. Fans are already gushing over their adorable chemistry!
Mumbai Mirror source added – “This film is diametrically opposite to what Amar did in Stree. This one is more like dark monster comedy. The shoot will commence early next year in Mumbai.”
3) Sanki
Varun also has Sajid Nadiadwala’s action-comedy flick titled ‘Sanki’ in the pipeline.
“It’s an unabashed commercial entertainer with action, drama and comedy. Varun will try his hand at playing larger than life action hero in this one. The film begins in mid 2021, and is currently being scripted,” shared the source with Mumbai Mirror.
Rumour has it that SRK’s next with Atlee has been named Sanki, however, the Mumbai Mirror source confirmed that it’s Sajid who has the title registered under his name.
“The title has been with Sajid for almost a decade now and was one of the titles in consideration for his directorial debut, Kick.”
4) Ekkis
Apart from comedy, Varun will also be seen in a serious avatar with Sriram Raghavan’s next – Ekkis, a biopic on the life of Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal who was martyred at the age of 21 during the India-Pakistan War of 1971.
The source added, “Ekkis is a period war film which requires multiple people on set, with real action scenes set against tanks, crowds and guns. They don’t want to risk by shooting a film of that scale in the middle of the pandemic and hence, Varun has decided to get a line up in place that will be devoid of big crowd scenes.”
