Anurag’s former assistant Jaydeep Sarkar shared a series of tweets on Monday, recalling an incident from years ago when he was working with Anurag. Huma Qureshi Responds To Being Dragged In The Controversy

Payal had dragged the names of Richa Chadda, Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill in the controversy

Payal Ghosh had claimed that Anurag told her that female actors like Richa Chadda, Mahie Gill and Huma Qureshi would perform sexual favours for him and he expected the same from her.

While Anurag denied the allegations, Richa Chadda had initiated legal action against Payal Ghosh for ‘unnecessarily and falsely (dragging)’ her name into her allegations.

Now, Huma Qureshi has also reacted to the controversy. She took to Twitter on Tuesday to share her statement, declaring that she was furious at her name being dragged into accusations of sexual misconduct made against Anurag.

“In my personal experience and to my knowledge he has neither misbehaved with me or anyone else.” -says Huma

As per her personal experience, she said he had neither misbehaved with her or anyone else.

She wrote – “Anurag and I last worked together in 2012-13 and he is a dear friend and an extremely talented director. In my personal experience and to my knowledge he has neither misbehaved with me or anyone else.

However, anyone who claims to be abused must report it to the authorities, the police and the judiciary.

I chose not to comment till now because I don’t believe in social media fights and media trials. I feel really angry at being dragged into this mess. I feel angry not just for myself but also every woman whose years of hard work and struggle gets reduced to such baseless conjecture and allegations in their workplace. Please let’s refrain from this narrative. It is the joint responsibility of women and men both to carefully protect the sanctity of #MeToo. This is my final response. Please do not approach me to make any more statements on this matter.”
