Though Akshay is currently in the UK shooting for Bell Bottom, he has come to the rescue of those affected by the Assam and Bihar floods back home.
As per Hindustan Times report, Akshay Kumar has decided to contribute Rs 1 crore each to both Bihar and Assam CM Relief Funds to help them overcome the current flood situation.
A source reported to HT – “On Thursday, Akshay Kumar spoke to CMs of Bihar and Assam and pledged a sum of rupees one crore each at a time when these areas are affected by the natural calamity. Both the Chief Ministers have expressed gratitude and appreciated his gesture that amid so much negativity all around, he could think of the betterment of these states.”
Earlier, Akshay Kumar was among one of the first actors to extend support towards battling the Covid-19 crisis, with a whopping donation of 25 crores to the PM CARES Fund.
Akshay Kumar is the only Bollywood star to feature in Forbes‘ list of highest-paid actors of 2020 with earnings of $48.5 million (roughly Rs 362 crore).
On the work front, the actor has these projects in the pipeline – Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb, Bell Bottom, Prithviraj, Atrangi Re, Raksha Bandhan, and Bachchan Pandey.
