Shakuntala Devi’s daughter, Anupama Banerji, has a lot to say on the film based on her mother’s life. Speaking to Mid-Day, Anupama discussed how there was more to her mother than her love for maths.

Anu Menon and Nayanika Mahtani had taken special help from Anupama while scripting the film. In short, I’m happy that the film has managed to capture her energy, laughter and zest for life! I am looking forward to the film’s release and I am certain that viewers will enjoy learning so much more about my mother.”

The film is directed by Anu Menon and also stars Sanya Malhotra playing the role of a young Anupama Banerji.

Vidya Balan, herself can’t contain her excitement as she talks about the film. When asked about it, she stated, Stepping into the world of Shakuntala Devi was as intimidating as it was exhilarating. Her story is inspirational and makes you see how if we believe in ourselves, the world is our oyster.
