Sonu Sood has been a hero for many in this lockdown and he continues to be one as he pledges to help 400 families of migrants that were deceased or suffered injury while walking back home.
In an interview with Hindustan Times Sonu Said that he and his team have taken the responsibility of 400 migrant families. Sonu Sood had to follow a tough cycle for reaching to these families as some of them did not have personal phones and therefore Sonu’s team had to first get in touch with the police of that area or the sarpanch and then with the help of them, they got in touch with the families. Sonu says “I realized it’s just the beginning, as millions are walking home. Imagine the kind of risk. So, I got in touch with them and sent around 90,000 people at home. I got in touch with the different government officials from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and realized that 80 people had died inside Shramik trains. When you speak to the families on phone, they start crying, it’s heartbreaking to listen to them. You can’t talk or say much, but want to do your bit.”
Sonu Sood and the team have taken the bank account details of these families and will be aiding them financially to help with things like farming, constructing houses, or kids’ education.
