We absolutely adore Prajakta Koli who is famously known as MostlySane in her acting debut. Khayali Pulao shows us that Asha is a sweet yet determined girl who wants so much more in life and strives to get it.
We thought Prajakta Koli’s character deserved a character biopsy so here it is! If you haven’t watched the movie yet, check it out below.
In a world full of people who tend to talk about the dos and don’ts, a little girl held her head high and her dreams higher. Khayali Pulao tells the story of a young Haryana based girl who teaches us how to make the phrase ‘dreams do come true’ come to life.
Asha is surrounded by people who have lived and grown in an orthodox society, hence, she herself has grown accustomed to the same orthodox social norms. However, she craves the sense of freedom no matter how minuscule or insignificant her wants may seem.
At home, Asha’s mother is the supportive kind who takes care of her daughter to an extent where she supports her dreams and ambitions irrespective of what’s right or wrong. Whereas, Asha’s father is more on the conformist era who believes in doing just as society thinks one must do. Asha loves both her parents dearly and is seen to be obeying both. Her character is such that she wants to achieve her own little joys but at the same time, she does not want to hurt her parent’s beliefs.
The little girl is a dainty fellow with a rock-solid determination. She is an erudite and is always at the top of her class. In an attempt to join the school handball team, she willingly takes in all sorts of criticism thrown at her by the faculty and friends.
Ever since she had set her goal of achieving a little freedom in a backward society, she has never given up on the same. Striving to better herself at the sport, she very innocently dodges all questions on why she longed to be in the handball team. Although Asha may come off as someone who might be scared to talk out the truth, she was of pure heart and hence did not want to hurt any sentiments with an answer.
A girl like Asha is very rare. Soft, innocent and yet so strong-willed. Her fitting role as the protagonist is irreplaceable as she has her own charm of stealing the spotlight in the goofiest yet most adorable ways.
