Some stars like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma proactively took steps to identify and overcome the problem, even while dealing with a lot of personal and social backlash, while some succumbed to the darkness.

But the Padmaavat actress sought professional help for her mental health and opened up to her fans about the daily struggles of having to live with the condition. She even established The Live, Love Laugh Foundation to help other people fight this trauma as well!
Ranveer Singh
Even Ranveer Singh saw a therapist after struggling with a personal tragedy that left him shaken and depressed – when his friend expressed suicidal thoughts and shot himself before anyone could intervene. “Ranveer doesn’t like to show his emotions in public, but people close to him, especially Deepika, knew that this tragedy had hit him hard. She saw him struggle with his grief, mixed with guilt.
Anushka Sharma
Mental health is still stigmatized in Indian society, but stars like Anushka Sharma have stepped in to talk about their mental issues and break the taboo. “I have anxiety. And I’m treating my anxiety. I’m on medication for my anxiety. Why am I saying this? Because it’s a completely normal thing. It’s a biological problem!”

Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, has also openly spoken about dealing with his bipolar disorder and alcoholism. “It went on for 18 months during which I changed 4 doctors. The medication wasn’t working and crazy things were happening. It was scary!”
Shama Sikander
TV actress Shama Sikander too spoke about her struggle with bipolar disorder. “That is the darkest time anybody can ever have. That is like waking up with a pandemic almost every moment and minute of your life.”
Manisha Koirala
Not only has the Dil Se actress Manisha Koirala battled cancer and survived, but also suffered from clinical depression due to marital discord in her life. However, she overcame it, with the love and support of her family!

However, depression has also caused some to take rather drastic steps! Heavily depressed due to a failed career in Bollywood and struggling with person problems,actress Jiah Khan took the extreme step of committing suicide.
Parveen Babi
Mental illness also took a heavy toll on the Bollywood career of Iconic actress Parveen Babi, who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and a severe case of depression. It also led to her premature death.
